Information about Global Force Wrestling

  • Global Force Wrestling was founded in 2014 by Jeff Jarrett. The company ran several sets of TV tapings with the goal of getting national and international television deals. The shows never aired on broadcast or cable, but did air as a series of taped PPVs as part of Impact Wrestling's One Night Only series. GFW also ran a series of house shows, often partnered with a local indy group.

  • In early 2017, Jarrett returned to Impact Wrestling (the name being used by Anthem Sports after purchasing TNA) and stated the GFW and Impact Wrestling would be merging. Within a couple of months, the Impact Wrestling name was replaced with GFW. However, in the fall of 2017, Jarrett left the company and it became Impact Wrestling again. Jarret maintained the rights to GFW and ran several shows after the split. For purposes of this site, shows promoted by Anthem are not considered to be part of the GFW history.

  • The GFW Titles were unified with the Impact Wrestling titles on July 2, 2017 and the GFW name was used for several months. However, when Jarrett left the company, the titles reverted back to being Impact Wrestling titles. Due to the change back to Impact Wrestling, the original GFW title lineages are considered to have ended with the unifications.
